What is your role at Bread & Butter Concepts? Startender (bartender) at The Oliver.
How long have you been with us at BBC? I opened up with the original Oliver team in June.
Favorite part of your job? At the end of the day, it is to make people smile. I feel like I’m the doctor behind the bar, I have the medicine that makes people happy and they leave with a smile on their face.
Describe yourself in 6 words or less. Passionate, energetic, hilarious, motivated, dependable, firecracker!
Favorite Kansas City activity to do? During baseball season, going to Royals games with my boyfriend, Patrick. During football season going Chiefs games and tailgating…Barbeque of course! And then my weekly visits at The Quaff.
Where’s your favorite place to eat in the city? There are a few. When I moved here a few years ago Gram & Dun was our favorite brunch spot on Sundays. Pierpont’s is our anniversary and birthday dinner spot. The 10 course dinner and wine pairing at Blue Stem was amazing last month. Justice Drugstore in Smithville. Cooper’s Hawk is a regular date night spot and I can’t forget about BRGR in P+L.
What’s something about you that would surprise your coworkers? I’ve been to every baseball stadium but three. Those three are the stadiums in Toronto, San Francisco and Dallas.
What do you do on your days off? Well it used to be go to the beach, but I can’t do that here! So I try to spend time with my boyfriend. We enjoy trying new restaurants, exploring with different scotches and wines, shopping and going to games.
What’s your favorite cocktail from the menu? The #1 Gin Tonic. The cucumber, juniperberry cubes are pretty awesome. My favorite drink to make is my Angel’s Envy Rye Manhattan with carpano antica and blackstrap bitters. And a simple Bullet Rye Old Fashioned.
What’s your favorite menu item? It depends on my mood. I love our Fillet with Mashed Potatoes and Seasonal Veggies. And nothing beats the Best Chicken Fried Chicken Sandwich with Fried Potatoes.
Who do you most admire in life? My mom and dad. They have so much patience with me and they give me so much love at the same time… It’s hard being 1000 miles away from them, however, I get my strength from my mom.
What’s your best memory from Bread & Butter Concepts? The occasional drink or two after work with coworkers that lead to random adventures are always memorable.
